What will you do at Qred?
As a Java developer, you will play an important role in building our next generation platform with the aim to have an event-driven architecture built in Java and Javascript.
We are working to redefine our technology stack and have made significant improvements during 2020. We have had constant progress in test automation pipelines, code coverage, agile development processes and leadership clarity.
To continue in 2021 we need people like you to help us refactor the Java code base and implement new features by using more interfaces, inversion of control patterns and exposing our business logic via JWT REST API's.
The health of our Java platform is improving each month and we see a strong future by investing in our employees and Java system architecture to combine Java and javascript within AWS Lambda and AWS event bridge.
Why You're a fit for Qred
To thrive in this role, it's important that you have high standards. The Java team is very committed to code quality and design patterns. Code reviews typically have high and engaged feedback which is great if you wish to work with modern Java. We are looking for engineers who really like to work with Java and SQL but understand its fun to also dip your toes into cloud infrastructure in AWS from time to time. Overall we have a high preference for automation so if you recommendations on additional tooling, you would be most welcomed.
We believe you:
- Have at least 3 years of writing, releasing, and maintaining Java applications
- Have experience with modern Java methodologies such as Spring 5, Mockito and SonarCloud or similar
- Are genuinely excited about technology, and have a strong interest in learning and playing with emergent technologies in Java
- Care about quality and you take pride in shipping code thats been well reviewed
- Have comfort and familiarity with modern agile development practices and are happy that the team has a structured and clear prioritized roadmap
- Have an understanding of working with Continuous Integration & devOps and are happy to discuss with highly skilled colleagues on new ideas
- Work well in a team to solve problems and can ask for help, but are motivated to debug alone when required
- Hold and express considered opinions, and modify them when faced with contrary evidence. Above all, you are happy to let the best ideas win
- Are a good communicator in both written and verbal, comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical team members in English
