Sounds great right, but what about the role and the team?

As an Engineering Manager for our Credit Decision team, you’ll lead the team consisting of our Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Data Analysts. The team is responsible for making the most out of Qred’s scoring algorithm QSA and other decision support models such as CLTV (customer lifetime value). This means they are responsible for all ML (machine learning) models together with the infrastructure for deploying and maintaining them. This team is also responsible for creating and maintaining internal data models used within the organization.

As we see it, an Engineering Manager with us has 3 main focus areas:

The People: You are the responsible line manager of your team, helping them with personal and professional growth by sharing appropriate responsibilities with clear expectations. Also, you are a present & empathic leader, running biweekly 1on1s, and performance reviews.

Team deliveries: You nurture autonomy within your team, and share responsibilities with your team members in line with their experience and capabilities. Together with the Product Manager you lead the progress of daily work, resolve blockers, facilitate decisions and discussions within and outside your team. You actively work to improve the team’s way of working to achieve transparency, efficiency, teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and quality deliveries.

Technical implementation: You are constantly evaluating your team’s deliveries, identifying technical debts, future roadblocks and setting a strategy to keep a healthy state.

Here’s what we're looking for:

• Proven work experience in Data Science and has been involved in implementing a machine learning model into a production environment

• Tech skills in preferably Python, AWS, TensorFlow and neural networks

• Proven experience in leading a team of data scientists, data engineers and data analysts

As a person, we’re looking for someone with

• A business mindset and a natural feeling of responsibility for the team and its output

• An interest in coaching and engaging others

• Communicative in terms of being able to switch between tech & business language

• A humble and transparent approach related to blindspots and weaknesses
