What You'll do at Qred
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a lead role of that competence in a small enabler team of Automation & Quality. For the details of practice and planning of your work, your opinion are of highest value and importance. We are scaling up our systems for expansion into new markets, which means that you will lead our hands-on work to align with the high demand of automation along high fault-tolerance, scaleability, reliability and disaster recovery of the system. 

It is further more our shared mission as a team, to enable and empower the development teams in practicing testing, automating testing, monitoring and acting upon failures of their parts of the system, while they deploy changes to production on a daily basis.

In this mission your teammates will consist of DevOps Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test that will drive the developer experience-facing improvements, while you would mostly be focusing on the operations-facing improvements. The team has a leader which is part of tech management, who will serve to enable the team and facilitate a shared strategy and way forward for implementing cutting edge practices, technologies and a great work environment.

Here's a taste of your daily activities as Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Improve our strategy and usage of AWS and Kubernetes
  • Innovate our logging and monitoring strategy and implementation of tools, for general operations as well as customized monitoring for the development teams.
  • Advocating for best practices in AWS in terms of automation, cost, scalability, reliability and security.
  • Be responsible for reliability, uptime, resilience, disaster mitigation and disaster recovery through Chaos Engineering.
  • Continuously looking to learn new things and share that knowledge with your team.
  • You will provide level 3 technical support.
  • Be a key player in adding and refining important practices to this list.

In addition to this you have/are:

  • Advanced experience working with reliability and the technologies Amazon Web Services, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid experience with technologies similar as AWS ECS/EKS, Helm, Istio, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana etc.
  • Experience with distributed systems: scaling, fault-tolerance, load-balancing, networking, security or similar
  • Genuinely excited about our tech stack, and have a strong interest in learning and playing with emergent technologies via responsible experimentation
