As we scale, we are now looking for an Underwriting Team Lead Netherlands to be part of our journey to transform the financial landscape for entrepreneurs.

The role

The Underwriting Team Lead Netherlands is responsible for country-specific underwriting administration and managing the day-to-day application flow, as well as providing structure and support for the Underwriting Team. The Underwriting Team Lead is responsible for laying out a risk strategy for the market as agreed and coordinated with the Country Manager, Head of Collection, and Head of Credit. The role combines operational responsibilities with management functions. It involves ensuring the smooth execution of daily activities, both through your actions and by guiding the team. Additionally, you will focus on supporting, coaching, and developing the team to drive performance and achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities

•  Handle underwriting tasks such as assessing applications and financial documents and preparing offers for customer

• Coaching the team in underwriting loan applications

• Report on conversion rates, CLV, and forecast along with an action plan to the CM regularly

• Keep track of bonus targets

• Support recruiting, onboarding, and training

• Constantly looking for ways to improve the underwriting process together with Credit/Tech/legal

• A proactive approach to building trust and promoting team cohesion

Qualifications

• Proficiency in analyzing financial documentation to assess risks and make informed decisions

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken

• Prior leadership experience is a strong advantage

• Experience within fintech or a fast-growing organization is a plus
