As we scale, we are now looking for an Engineering Manager for the Data Platform Team to be part of our journey to transform the financial landscape for entrepreneurs.

About the role

As an Engineering Manager for our Data Platform team, you’ll lead the team consisting of our Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers. The team is responsible for designing, implementing, iterating, and improving our data lake and data warehouse, as well as directly supporting the different analysts/stakeholders that depend on our data platform.

As we see it, an Engineering Manager with us has 3 main focus areas:

• The People - You are the responsible line manager of your team, helping them with personal and professional growth by sharing appropriate responsibilities with clear expectations. Also, you are a present and empathic leader, running biweekly 1on1s, and performance reviews.
• Team Deliveries - You nurture autonomy within your team and share responsibilities with your team members in line with their experience and capabilities. You will lead the progress of daily work, resolve blockers, and facilitate decisions and discussions within and outside your team. You actively work to improve the team’s way of working to achieve transparency, efficiency, teamwork, knowledge-sharing, and quality deliveries. Together with the team, the architect, and leadership, you will design the team’s technical roadmap and ensure it aligns with the company’s broader goals, setting clear and achievable targets for future growth.
• The Technical Implementation - You are constantly evaluating your team’s deliveries, identifying technical debts, future roadblocks, and setting a strategy to keep a healthy state.

Here’s what we're looking for:

• Proven work experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, building and orchestrating data pipelines.

• Tech skills in:

  • Coding/Languages: Python, SQL, template languages (json, yaml), Jinja

  • Infrastructure and Tools: AWS services (Lambda, Glue, Batch, Step Functions) or analogous services with Azure/GCP, dbt, Docker, IaC concepts (CloudFormation/Terraform)

• Hands-on experience with data warehouse providers such as Redshift, Snowflake, Big Query, or similar. As well as basic principles of data lake structuring, including data ingestion, governance, and processing.

• Proven experience in leading a team of data engineers.

• You possess a deep understanding of how data is consumed and utilized within an organization. You recognize its critical role in driving business value and are committed to advancing a culture of data-driven decision-making.
