With bold growth plans and strong momentum across multiple markets, we’re now looking for a Head of 1st Line Compliance for the next phase of growth.

About the Role

As our Head of 1st line Compliance, you will bridge the gap between regulatory requirements and business execution, ensuring our operations remain robust during rapid scaling. Operating directly within the business, you will have end-to-end ownership of our operational compliance framework. This mission-oriented role focuses on embedding regulatory precision into our day-to-day financial systems and product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regulatory processes and implementation projects to ensure continuous regulatory compliance across all business functions.

• Translate complex financial regulations and privacy laws, including GDPR, into clear, actionable governance frameworks and operational processes.

• Act as the primary compliance partner to business unit heads, ensuring that regulatory obligations are understood, owned, and executed within day-to-day operations.

• Prepare and maintain steering documentation and internal governance in accordance with our annual compliance wheel.

• Manage compliance incidents and customer complaints, partnering with internal business units to drive swift remediation and risk mitigation.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a structured compliance leader with a strong understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model and hands-on experience operating within or establishing a first-line compliance function. You bring a systematic approach to problem-solving, driving alignment across multi-functional teams while remaining calm under pressure. You are motivated by building scalable frameworks that protect the bank's foundation while enabling fast-paced commercial momentum.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience working in a compliance function within a financial institution, bank, or fintech scale-up.

• Demonstrated ability to build, implement, and maintain internal governance frameworks in a regulated environment.

• Solid command of Swedish financial regulations, privacy legislation, and general compliance practices.

• Fluency in both Swedish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
