About the Role

As our Engineering Manager, you will take full ownership of scaling high-performing teams while bridging the gap between technical execution and business impact. Leading up to two cross-functional development teams, your mission is to drive organizational design, mentor talent, and optimize our delivery frameworks. In this role, you will champion a modern, high-velocity engineering culture that directly enables our European expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor two cross-functional engineering teams, managing performance and supporting career growth for approximately 10 engineers.

• Drive the evolution of our software development lifecycle, integrating AI-driven automation (AI-SDLC) and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery.

• Optimize team structures, resource allocation, and engineering maturity models to ensure organizational scalability.

• Foster tight cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Product Management, and UX Design to deliver seamless financial systems.

• Partner with the CTO, software architects, and senior management to align engineering strategies with Qred's commercial growth.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a structured leader who thrives in a scaling fintech environment and knows how to drive alignment across technical domains. You have a proven ability to build scalable frameworks and a strong interest in modern software delivery metrics. You are motivated by giving teams high autonomy while maintaining high standards of technical precision and operational velocity.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience leading engineering teams as a Manager or Head of Engineering within a domain-structured organization.

• Solid technical background in full-stack environments, with the ability to navigate architectural discussions around Serverless-first and Event-driven systems.

• Strong interest and practical experience in leveraging AI tools to optimize engineering workflows.

• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous delivery pipelines.

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our headquarters in Stockholm. We believe our culture thrives when we work together, which is why we have an office-first approach. To balance this with some flexibility, we have the option of working remotely one day per week. We review applications on a rolling basis and while the start date is flexible, the right candidate can join us immediately.
